FARGO, ND – Led by a school record-tying performance my
Maria Bolibruch, the 23
rd ranked University of Mary women's track & field team appears to be peaking just in time for the conference championship next weekend. The Marauders captured seven events at the NDSU Tune-Up and posted five NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks.
Bolibruch blazed her way to a time of 13.48 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles to win the event. She tied teammate
Tonie-Ann Pandohie's school record as the pair now share the second-best time in the country this season. Bolibruch's time is also an NCAA provisional qualifying time for the national championships.
Pandohie took second in the 100 meter hurdles to Bolibruch with a time of 13.62 seconds.
In another big performance for UMary in the hurdles,
Julia Hammerschmidt cleared the 400 meter barriers in a time of 61.78 seconds, an NCAA provisional time.
Freshman
Tanesha Davis posted an NCAA provisional mark of 11.96 seconds in the 100 meter dash to place third in the event.
The Marauders posted four other victories on the track. Nicolyn Brown placed first in the 400 meter hurdles with a clocking of 57.31 seconds. With a time of 4:42.19,
Bree Erickson finished first in the 1,500 meter run.
Alexis Zeis outraced the pack in the 3,000 meter run, crossing the finish line in 10:03.07.
Additionally, the quartet of Bolibruch, Hammerschmidt, Pandohie and Davis won the 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.39 seconds.
Headlining the Marauders efforts in the field was Jamilee Gordon. The senior claimed first in the triple jump with NCAA provisional qualifying distance of 39-1/2.
