Memorable home day as Marauders capture ten events at Al Bortke Open

BISMARCK, ND – In their only home meet of the season, the University of Mary men's track & field team made sure to make the day memorable. Paced by a trio of wins from Luxon Glor, the Marauders captured ten different events and posted three NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the second annual Al Bortke Open.
 
A sophomore from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Glor captured the 100 meter dash with a blistering NCAA provisional qualifying time of 10.59 seconds.
 
Glor also won the long jump with a mark of 7.03 meters.
 





Rounding out his day, Glor led UMary to a win in the 4x100 meter hurdles. Joined by Zack Graves, Connor Graves and Colton Stoltz, the Marauders registered a time of 42.51 seconds.
 
Tyrell Rosencranz claimed the triple jump with a provisional qualifying effort of 14.74 meters, winning the event by .39 meters (1-3.50 feet). He also finished second to Glor in the long jump with a mark of 6.94 meters.
 
Andrew Dubiel picked up the Marauders third NCAA provisional qualifying mark on the day when the senior from Colorado Springs, CO, flung the discus 50.05 meters.
 
Separated by just .24 seconds, Derek Myers and Steven Gordon took first and second in the 1,500 meter run as Myers crossed the line in 4:02.05.
 
In a deep field of 21 runners, Kevin Carpenter claimed the 3,000 meter title. The junior finished the race in a crisp 8:46.91 to win by nearly eight seconds. Myers snared in the third slot. Overall four of the first six finishers in the 3K were Marauders.


 
Tyler Erickson edged out teammate Harrison Bentzel in the 3,000 meter steeplechase by nearly seven seconds.
 
In another outstanding day for the Marauders in the high jump, Shenley Allen and Jack Lamb both cleared 1.98 meters. Allen was declared the winner with Lamb placing second.
 
Sven Dunkel picked up a big win in the javelin. With a top effort of 53.55 meters, he won the event easily by over 10 feet.

The quartet of Adam Cebulla, Austin Lucero, Josh Wulfekuhle and Gabriel Wyllie combined to win the 4x400 meter relay, clocked in 3:25.66.
 
Stoltz, who placed third in the 100 meter dash, took second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.23.
 
Wolfekuhle ran the 400 meter hurdles in 56.35 seconds to place second with Cebulla third in 56.59 seconds.
 
Teegan Olson (1:55.90) and Sam Wilke (1:56.95) went 4-5 in the 800 meter run.
 
The Marauders next compete at the Dickinson State Blue Hawk on Friday, April 14.
