Marauders gain two wins, three national marks at Lyle Hokanson Classic

FARGO, ND – The University of Mary men's and women's track & field teams combined for two wins and three NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Lyle Hokanson Classic, hosted by North Dakota State University. Andy Dubiel led the men's squad and Jamilee Gordon the women's with a provisional mark for both in a meet that featured three NCAA Division I programs.
 
Dubiel placed second in the discus with a toss of 172-2. The senior just missed the school record held by Marauders throwing coach Bryan Harris. This is the second straight week Dubiel has posted a provisional qualifying mark. In addition to leading the Northern Sun, the Colorado Springs, CO, native ranks 14th in the country.
 
The Marauders 4x100 squad of Colton Stoltz, Zack Graves, Connor Graves and Luxon Glor placed first with a time of 42.16 seconds. That is the fourth-best mark in the NSIC this season and just 1.04 seconds from the provisional qualifying time for nationals.
 
Other top finishers for the UMary men's squad:
  • Marceau Jovin placed fourth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.14 seconds)
  • Josh Wolfekuhle (55.52 seconds) and Adam Cebulla (56.23 seconds) finished 4th and 6th respectively in the 400 meter hurdles
  • Zack Graves was fifth in the 200 meter dash (22.33 seconds)
  • The 4x400 relay team of Cebulla, Austin Lucerno, Gabriel Wyllie and Wulfekuhle placed fourth (3:26.93)
  • Sam Mackedanz was fifth in the high jump (1.93 meters)
  • Tyrell Rosencranz (6.71 meters) and Mackedanz (6.68 meters) finished 3-4 in the long jump
  • Beau Nutting took fourth in the triple jump (13.94 meters)
 
On the women's side, the Marauders dominated the 100 meter hurdles as teammates Tonie-Ann Pandohie and Maria Bolibruch went 1-2 in the event. Pandohie, ranked second in the nation in the event, took the win in a time of 14.46 seconds. Bolibruch, currently 17th in the country, was clocked in 14.48 seconds in the tightly-contested race.
 
Bolibruch and Pandohie then teamed with Julia Hammerschmidt and Nicolyn Brown to run the 4x100 meter relay in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 46.98 seconds to place second at the meet.
 
Claiming the other provisional qualifying mark for the Marauders was Gordon in the triple jump. She sailed 39-1.75 to place fourth overall.
 
Other top performances for the Marauders include:
  • Brown (57.70 seconds), Melanie Rodriguez (57.79) and Nelecia Richards (57.97 seconds) placed 3-4-5 in the 400 meter dash
  • Gordon (5.38 meters) and Kylie Pastian (5.22) were 6-7 in the long jump
  • Gordon (11.93 meters) and Pastian (11.37) went 4-6 in the triple jump
The Marauders next compete at the Al Cassell Relays on April 29.
