MARSHALL, MN – Competing in the inaugural Mustang Open hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University, the University of Mary women's track & field team left some immediate impressions in the new record book. The Marauders posted three NCAA provisional qualifying times and won six events at the two-day meet.
Tonie-Ann Pandohie was one of three Marauders with a pair of winning marks. The All-American blazed her way to victory in the 100 meter hurdles with a provisional qualifying time of 13.83 seconds. Running the opening leg of the 4x100 meter relay, she teamed with
Maria Bolibruch,
Tanesha Davis and
Julia Hammerschmidt for a winning time of 47.09 seconds.
Hammerschmidt also had a big win in the 400 meter hurdles, crossing the barriers in a provisional qualifying time of 61.46 seconds.
Davis was the other two-time winner for the Marauders. The freshman cruised her way to the win in the 100 meter dash with a scintillating time of 12.10 seconds. She also claimed second in the 200 meter dash with a clocking of 25.56 seconds.
Bolibruch earned the Marauders other provisional qualifying mark when she ran the 100 meter hurdles in 13.99 seconds to finish second behind Pandohie.
Jamilee Gordon opened the Marauders winning efforts by claiming the triple jump title on Friday with a top effort of 38-4.25. She later placed fifth in the javelin and fourth in the long jump.
Another strong effort in the long jump was posted by
Kylie Pastian. The sophomore leaped 18-4.75 to place second.
The Marauders next host the Al Bortke Open at the MDU Resources Community Bowl on Saturday, April 8.
