Luxon Glor continued his outstanding indoor season for the University of Mary men's track & field season with a pair of victories at the Bison Open while teammates captured a relay title and three runner-up finishes.
A sophomore from Winnipeg, MB, Glor led a Marauders 1-2 sweep of the 60 meter dash and claimed a win in the long jump while taking fourth in the 200.
Glor and
Zack Graves went 1-2 in the 60. Glor registered a time of 7.00 seconds while Graves finished in 7.18 seconds.
The pair also placed adjacently in the 200 meter dash. Glor snared fourth in a time of 22.47 while Graves, a senior who joined track this season for the first time at Mary after completing his football eligibility, finished fifth in 22.53 seconds.
Glor also grabbed the long jump title, sailing 7.05 meters to win by six inches. Graves was fourth in 6.65 meters.
Kevin Carpenter led a 2-3-4 finish for the Marauders in the 3,000 meter run. The junior was clocked in 8:42.38 in the event. He finished just ahead of
Derek Myers (8:46.50) and
Tyler Erickson (8:47.53).
Sam Wilke led the Marauders efforts in the 800 meter run, claiming fourth in the event after recording a time of 1:56.63. Gabriel Wylie finished fifth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:25.17.
In the 60 meter hurdles,
Marceau Jovin placed third in a scant 8.58 seconds.
Both Marauders relay teams had strong showings. The Distance Medley Relay team of Erickson,
Adam Cebulla, Wilke and Myers placed first in 10:28.92 . Cebulla and Wilke joined forces with
Austin Lucero and
Josh Wulfekuhle to place third in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:31.13.
In the high jump,
Shenley Allen took second after clearing the bar at 2.01 meters.
Beau Nutting had a solid day in the triple jump, placing third after a top effort of 13.38 meters.
The Marauders next compete at the South Dakota State Classic on Feb. 10-11.
