Pandohie ties school 100m hurdles record in final tune up before NSIC championships

FARGO, N.D. – In the final week before the Northern Sun championships, the University of Mary's Tonie-Ann Pandohie and Davina Carr look in championship form. The duo both posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the 2016 Bison Tune Up in their last outings of the regular season.
 
Pandohie, an All-American from Kingston, Jamaica, tied Janet Johnson's school record in the 100 meter hurdles. The sophomore blew over the barriers in 13.63 seconds. Not only a provisional qualifying mark it is the fifth best time in the nation.
 
The Marauders dominated the hurdles, capturing the top three slots in the 100 meter distance had four of the top five finishes in the race. Freshman Maria Bolibruch claimed second in 14.11 seconds, just ahead of senior Molly McDonald's clocking of 14.18. For McDonald her time was a season best. Taking fifth was another freshman, Julia Hammerschmidt, in 14.63.
 
McDonald set a personal record while winning the high jump. The Lakewood, Colorado, native went 5-06.50 for the victory.
 
Carr, a two-time All-American, cleared 12-08.25 for a provisional qualifying mark. She took second on the day. For the year Carr ranks 10th in the country. She placed third at the NCAA indoor championships in March.
 
Also in the pole vault, Kaycee Luke set a personal outdoor mark of 11-08.5.                                                                        
 
U-Mary captured several other titles on the day. All-American Melanie Rodriguez cruised to the 400 meter dash championship in 58.63 seconds.
 
In one of the closest races of the day, two Marauders freshmen finished 1-2. Jaiden Schuette edged teammate Jackie Harmon by a quarter second, 4:50.67 to 4:50.92.
 
All-American Faith Kjelstrup was victorious in the triple jump, sailing 39-04.00. She was fourth in the long jump.
 
Kjelstrup headlined a strong Marauders effort in the triple jump. Kylie Pastian placed third at 36-10.25 and Jasmyn Garcia finished fourth at 35-07.75.
 
Kennedy Robbins claimed second in the steeplechase, recording a personal record of 12:16.21.
 
The Marauders have a small contingent of athletes competing at the Masanz Open in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday, May 7, before competing in the NSIC Championships on May 13-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
