FARGO, N.D. – Finding his groove as the Northern Sun championships approach next weekend, freshman
Luxon Glor exploded for a school record in the log jump to headline a strong team effort at the Bison Tune Up.
Coming off three straight victories in the long jump, Glor did more than just win the event held at North Dakota State University on Friday. With an effort of 24-01.50, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native smashed Thomas Hartwell's old record of 23-08.75 by 4.75 inches.
A big day for the Marauders in the long jump, U-Mary claimed slots three through five. Freshman
Riley Miller went 22-03.50 for third and
Dustin Rueb was close behind in fourth at 22-03.00. Rounding out the scoring for the Marauders was
Taren Staudinger in fifth at 22-01.00.
Several other Marauders finished towards the top of their events.
Colton Stoltz posted second in the 100 meter dash at 10.86.
In the 110 meter hurdles, freshman
Marceau Jovin ran a personal record of 15.53 to win the event ahead of teammate
Beau Nutting.
Joe Berger, a senior from Mandan, N.D., posted a career-best in he high jump. His mark of 6-07.00 tied for the best height but he came in second in a tiebreaker.
In addition to Berger, the Marauders had a strong day in the high jump. Rueb took second at 6-05.00 and
Jack Lamb and
Sam Mackedanz both went 6-03.25 to claim fourth and fifth.
In the pole vault,
Jensen Roseboom cleared a personal outdoor record 14-08.25 to take second.
Tyrell Rosencranz and Staudinger 2-3 in the triple jump with marks of 46-04.25 and 45-11.25, respectively. Both posted personal records in both the triple and long jump.
The Marauders have a small contingent of athletes competing at the Masanz Open in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday, May 7, before competing in the NSIC Championships on May 13-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
