SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Headlined by a pair of titles from All-American
Danylle Kurywchak, the 14
th-ranked University of Mary women's track & field team captured seven total wins while posting two NCAA provisional qualifying marks on a cold and windy day at the Vance Butler Memorial Invitational.
Kurywchak won both the triple and long jump titles. The junior from Cameron Park, Calif., sailed 18' 4.5"in the long jump and cleared 41' 4.25" in the triple jump, a provisional qualifying distance.
Alexis Zeis recorded the Marauders other provisional qualifier. The freshman All-American won the 5,000 meter run in a time of 17:15.85.
Cassandra Jones captured the 400 meter dash in a clocking of 57.26.
Kathryn Stewart posted a mark of 12.06 seconds to claim the 100 meter dash title. The two All-Americans then joined forces with
Kameya Johnson and
Josie Guptill to win the 400 meter relay in a time of 3:51.85.
In a highly competitive event that featured an All-American foe,
Molly McDonald won the high jump when she cleared the bar at 5' 4.25".
Tonie Padohie posted two third-place finishes. She ran the 100 meter hurdles in 14.41 seconds and the 100 meter dash in 12.40 seconds.
Kaycie Stewart placed second in the 1,500 meter run, clocking the distance in 4:50.19.
Stephanie Fey hurled the hammer 46.12 meters to place third.
Guptill added a third place finish in the 400 meter hurdles to her win in the 400 meter relay. Matching her relay teammate Guptill, Johnson also had a third place finish in the 400 meter dash.
The Marauders are next in action at the Northern State Invitational on April 10-11 and at home at the Marauder Open on April 12.
