FARGO, N.D. – After a strong performance on the opening day of the 2015 Thundering Herd Classic, the University of Mary women's indoor track & field had an even better day two. The 18
th ranked Marauders posted seven provisional marks on Saturday after recording one on Friday. U-Mary also captured four wins.
Two Marauders posted NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 800 meter run. Senior
Brienna Lynch set the pace when she won the seeded 800 meter run with a mark of 2:13.98. Freshman
Brittany Brownotter claimed fifth in 2:15.76.
Alexis Zeis ran to victory in the 3,000 meters. The freshman cross country All-American recorded a provisional qualifying time of 9:48.82.
In the triple jump,
Danylle Kurywchak dominated the field with a top leap of 40' 6". The provisional qualifying mark captured the event by nearly three feet. It was a career-best for the Cameron Park, Calif., native.
Molly McDonald recorded a provisional mark in the high jump. The junior cleared the bar at 5' 5.25" to place second. The Lakewood, Colo., native also won the 60 meter hurdles, clearing the barriers in 9.14 seconds.
Jones blazed her way to a third place mark in the 400 meter dash, clocking a provisional qualifying time of 56.48 seconds.
Davina Carr soared a provisional qualifying mark of 12' 3.50" in the pole vault to grab third.
Kennedy Robbins was the runner-up in the seeded one mile run, finishing the race in 5:09:30.
On the first day of the Thundering Herd Classic, the Marauders Distance Medley Relay team of Lynch, Jones, Zeis and Brownotter posted the top time in the nation.
U-Mary next competes at the South Dakota State University Invitational on Feb 13.
