BROOKINGS, S.D. – Competing at a third straight meet hosted by an NCAA Division I program, the University of Mary men's track & field team posted several top performances at the South Dakota State University Jim Emmerich / Alumni Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman
Max Hager and sophomore
Adam Cebulla recorded the Marauders best finish of the day, placing 4-5 in the 600 meter run. Hager was clocked in 1:25.18 and Cebulla 1:28.33.
Sophomore
Nathan Inkman claimed fifth in the 800 meter run, one of the more competitive events of the day. He covered the distance in 1:55.81. Right behind in ninth was
Steven Gordon. Posting a time of 1:58.44.
Chris Jessop placed ninth in the 3,000 meter run. His effort of 8:44.55 was ninth overall but tops among non NCAA Division I runners.
In the high jump, Distin Rueb tied for third, crossing the bar at 6' 4.25".
Taren Staudinger took sixth in the long jump at 21' 3.5" and placed 11
th in the triple jump.
Jerrod Shaffner claimed 10
th in the triple jump after sailing 42' 6".
Travis Gavin grabbed ninth in the weight throw with a heave of 51' 10".
Next on the docket for the Marauders is the Cobber Duals at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., on January 31.
