Beam's Blistering Effort Headlines Marauders Work at Masanz Open

RESULTS

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Megan Beam posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time while winning the 5,000 meter run to headline the Marauders efforts at the Masanz Open. It was one of three individual titles U-Mary captured during the meet.
 
Beam ran the 5,000 in a time of 17:16.99 to meet the NCAA provo standards. She won the race by nearly a minute over the runner-up, who was clocked in 18:15.95. Beam's time exceeded her season's previous best by nearly 30 seconds.
 
In the 100 meter dash, Brittany Osborne's clocking of 12:07 was the fastest on the day.
 
Crystal Hovland captured the 400 meter hurdles in 1:04.43.
 
Cassandra Jones finished second in two different events for the Marauders. She was the runner up in the 200 meter dash after running a 25.08 and the 400 after being clocked in 56.86 seconds.
 
Brienna Lynch placed second in the 800 meter run, posting a time of 2:12.71.
 
With her best effort of the year, Molly McDonald placed second in the long jump with a leap of 18' 4.5".
 
Steph Braunagel claimed second in the triple jump, propelling herself 35' 8".
 
Stephanie Fey set a season-high with a throw of 42' 3.25" in the shot put.
 
The two-time defending conference champion Marauders next compete in the Northern Sun track & field championships on May 9-10 in Winona, Minn.
