Marauders Post Top Marks Against Top Competition at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. – Facing some of the top collegiate competition in the country, including nationally ranked NCAA Division I programs, the University of Mary women's track & field team posted three top-eight finishes, five national provisional qualifying times and one school record at the Mt. SAC Relays.
 
Janet Johnson led the Marauders charge. Individually the senior placed eighth in the 100 meter hurdles, clearing the barriers in a provisional qualifying time of 13.77 seconds.
 
The Kingston, Jamaica, native also ran a leg on the Marauders eighth place 4x100 meter relay team. Johnson combined with Kathryn Stewart, Brittany Osborne and Cassandra Jones to run a provisional qualifying time of 46.74 seconds.
 
The Marauders 4x400 meter relay team posted a school record and provisional qualifying time of 3:42.60 and also claimed eighth overall. Stewart and Jones ran with Crystal Hovland and Melanie Rodriguez to set the mark.
 
Brittney McKinley ran a time of 14.37 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles, a provisional qualifying time.
 
In addition to her work in the 4x400 relay, Hovland also posted a provisional qualifying time in the 400 meter hurdles with a clocking of 61.37 seconds.
 
The Marauders continue at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday, April 19. Members of the squad will also run in the Log Beach State Invitational in Saturday.
