Hartwell, Dixon Named Marauders 2013 NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Athletes to Watch

Marauders picked 7th in Coaches' Poll

Burnsville, MN - Following all-conference performances at the league indoor championships, seniors Chase Dixon and Thomas Hartwell are the University of Mary's 2013 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes to Watch.
 
The Marauders are picked to finish seventh in the 2013 NSIC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Preseason's Coaches' poll. Minnesota State University, Mankato is the favorite to win the conference crown, followed by MSU Moorhead, Augustana, the University of Sioux Falls, St. Cloud State University, the University of Minnesota Duluth, U-Mary, Wayne State College, Northern State University, Concordia University – St. Paul  and Minot State University.
 
U-Mary finished fourth at the 2012 NSIC outdoor championships but finished seventh at the 2013 indoor conference meet.
 
A sprinter and hurdler from Grass Valley, CA, Dixon was a three-time All-NSIC performer at the 2012 outdoor conference championships for his efforts in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay. The senior is coming off an all-conference performance at the 2013 NSIC indoor championships, where he finished second in the 60 meter hurdles.
 
Hartwell claimed all-conference honors at the NSIC indoor championships in the long jump each of the past two years and also placed in the triple jump in 2012 and 2013. The senior jumper from Fife, WA, claimed fourth in the long jump at the 2012 outdoor conference championships and just missed scoring in the triple jump.
 
The Marauders open the 2013 outdoor season April 6 at the American River College Invitational in Sacramento, CA.
