New Orleans – Both the University of Mary men's and women's track and field teams have been honored for stellar work in the classroom. The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recognized both Marauders squads as a 2012 Division II All-Academic Track & Field Team.
 
A total of 41 men's and 83 women's institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.
 
One of the nation's top programs after placing 11th in the nation at the NCAA outdoor championships and 13th at the indoors while winning the indoor and outdoor Northern State titles, the U-Mary women's team posted a combined team GPA of 3.23.
 
The U-Mary men, ranked in the regional polls all season, also combined for a team GPA of 3.23.
