AMERICAN RIVER INVITE RESULTS

Melissa Agnew set a University of Mary school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA championships to headline the Marauders efforts at the American River Invite on Saturday, March 31. The U-Mary women's team set two team records, posted seven provisional times and one automatic while
Chase Dixon led the men's team with two of the squad's six victories.
Agnew captured the 1500 meter run in a record time of 4:26.80 to win the event. She automatically qualified for the national championships with her inaugural effort of the outdoor season.
Dakota Wolf set a school record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:10.22. She finished second behind Agnew in the 1500 with a clocking of 4:33.64. She hit provisional qualifying marks in both events.
Jennifer Agnew matched Wolf with two provisional qualifying times, covering the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 10:48.13 and the 5,000 meter run in 17:15.36.
Two Marauders posted provisional times in the 100 meter hurdles.
Janet Johnson ran a 14.09 and
Kristyn Nelson a 14.14 to place 1-2 in the event.
The U-Mary women also met provisional standards in the 4x100 relay. The team of Nelson, Johnson,
Nicketa Coombs and
Kathryn Stewart posted a 46.94.
Dixon headlined several strong performances by the U-Mary men. The junior captured the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 55.80 and won the 110 meters in 15.28.
Brent Peltz won the javelin in his first meet of the year with a winning toss of 174-8.
Marshall Fryberger cleared 4.54 meters to win the pole vault.
Taylor Thompson paced all competitors in the 5,000 meter run in a clocking of 15:16.40 and
Jesse Bennett led all challengers in the 1,500 meter run in a time of 3:59.93.
The Marauders return to competition at the NDSU Multi and Bison Classic on April 13-14.
