Michelle Jones and
Alex Bachman-Williams earned slots on the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America / Continental Tire NCAA Division II Central All-Region Team. Both Marauders made the squad for a second straight year. Jones was a second team selection and Bachman-Williams garnered third team honors.
A four-year starter for the Marauders, Jones scored six goals and distributed eight assists for 20 points, all career-highs. The Hamilton, MT, senior, who displayed impressive touch on corner kicks and the ability to score from distance, led the team in assists and was third in goals.
A two-time All-Northern Sun first team selection, Jones earned Daktronics and NSCAA all-region second team honors in 2011. She ends her career with 17 goals, 16 assists and 50 points in 76 games.
Bachman-Williams scored a team-high nine goals in 2012, including five game-winners. Her total of winning counters was second in the NSIC and 18
th in the nation. The junior from Minot, ND, also added two assists and totaled 20 points to tie Jones for the team scoring lead.
In addition to Daktronics All-Central Region second team honors in 2011 and 2012, and NSCAA All-Central Region second team honors in 2011, Bachman-Williams claimed All-NSIC second team honors in both 2011 and 2012 and honorable mention all-conference honors as a freshman.
With 28 career goals Bachman-Williams is ninth on the Marauders all-time charts and tenth in school history with 66 points.
Behind the efforts of Jones and Bachman-Williams, U-Mary won its last six regular season games to finished 10-8 overall and 10-5 in the Northern Sun. Finishing fifth in conference play, the Marauders advanced to the NSIC tournament for the seventh straight season.
