Nikola Nikolic was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America 2011 College Division Men's Scholar All-North/Central third team. The senior from Belgrade, Serbia, owns a cumulative 3.80 grade point average in business.
A three year starter for the Marauders, Nikolic led the team in scoring in 2011, compiling six goals and five assists for 17 points. It was the second time in three seasons he has led the U-Mary side in point production. In his Marauders career, Nikolic scored 18 goals and delivered 11 assists for 47 points in 50 games.
To be nominated for consideration, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; and be in his second year at the current school if he is a transfer student.
The last U-Mary player to receive this NSCAA academic honor was Derek Luptak in 2009.
