Athletes of the Week
Martin Patron
Wrestling
Martin Patron (285, Sr., Modesto, CA) also earned two victories in the Marauders first Northern Sun duals of the season. Patron jumped out to a 5-0 lead on a pair of takedowns on his way to a 7-2 win over St. Cloud State’s Caleb White. The U-Mary senior closed the day in dramatic fashion, recording a takedown with five seconds left in the match to defeat Luke Stika of Upper Iowa 3-1.
Dakota Wolf
Women's Track and Field
Dakota Wolf (Jr., Dickinson, ND) won one event in a school-record time and placed second in another at the Bison Invitational on Sunday. The cross country All-American started her day with a second place finish in the mile in 5:03.35. That was her warm-up for the day. Wolf came back two hours later to easily win the 3,000 meter run in a new school record of 9:58.57. That broke the U-Mary record of 9:59.64 by Tiffany Czarnomska in 2004.
